- Cares for elderly, disabled, convalescent or handicapped at individual's home or residence. Provides service that support independence and enhance quality of life.
General Accountabilities*
- Assists with daily activities at individual’s home or residence.
- Performs tasks including but not limited to making beds, doing laundry, preparing meals, washing dishes, ironing, cleaning, bathing, dressing, etc.
- Purchases and prepares meals and groceries for individual.
- Assist with basic hygiene
- Assists client up and down stairs, in and out of bed, etc.
- Routine medication reminders.
- Accompanies ambulatory patients outside of home.
- Engages patient in activities such as reading, puzzles, conversation, card playing and companionship (client directed activities).
- Visits several households to provide similar daily care.
- Communicates with family about status/health of individual being cared for.
Job Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma
- Experience: Verified training in field or 6 months’ experience
